FITNESS TESTING
Before you set up a training program, you first need to identify what it is that you need to improve.
Through fitness testing, you will target the key fitness components, muscle groups and movement patterns identified through the activity analysis and discover your strengths and weaknesses.
Informed Consent
Before you start your fitness testing, it is important that you gain 'informed consent' from the participant. This is to minimise the potential risk of harm to both the administrator and the participant.
If the participant is under 18 year old, 'Parental Consent' must be sought.

- Validity – tests must measure what they claim to be measuring
- Reliability – tests must be able to be performed repeatedly (anywhere) and the same results obtained.
- Specificity - tests need to access the same characteristics of the sport/activity that they are training for
